Reports To: Head of Lower School and Head Librarian
Terms of Contract: Full Time, Full School Year
Teach K-4th grade weekly library classes, to include developmentally appropriate: a. Research skills (both monograph and digital) b. Library skills (scaffolded information literacy incorporating digital citizenship) c. Story Time d. Periodic visits to PK and P4 for Story Time
Guide students in material selection based on reading level/interests
Collaborate with faculty to provide curriculum support in both materials and skill areas
Coordinate Commemorative Book Club administration with Parent League volunteer
Manage 100/200 Book Club program
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
Staying current in emerging trends in:
literacy education (both reading and informatics)
Create inviting, welcoming library environment
Oversee annual Book Fair
Provide resource training to Lower School Faculty
Attend Lower School Faculty Meetings
Additional duties as required
Supervision of Job: receive instructional support guidance from Lower School Head, and library and information technology support from Head Librarian.

After an initial review of applicants, the search committee will select semifinalists for telephone/Skype interviews. Finalists will be invited to campus for extended interviews. We anticipate completing interviews by the end of March. A selection will be made soon thereafter for a start date in August 2017.
Required Education/Experience: Master of Library Science, Master of Library and Information Science, or an equivalent degree from an accredited program preferred; one to four years experience in classroom or library environment with students.
