The Masters School Department of Modern & Classical Languages seeks a Spanish teacher who is flexible and collaborative in planning, teaching, and assessing, and helps students take an active role in and responsibility for their own learning. Modern language faculty are committed to the student-centered Communicative Language approach in an immersion classroom environment, and work to help students cultivate intercultural competence as part of their path toward global citizenship.
Primary responsibilities are to teach any level of Spanish, from introductory to advanced placement or our Seminars in Spanish-language Cultures, as needed in a given year. We seek candidates with strengths in curricular design and current pedagogical theory, and a particular orientation toward student-centered learning.
3 years Spanish teaching and advising experience, preferably working in an independent day/boarding, college preparatory, or similar school culture and values
Interest in being an active member of The Masters School community, such as advising, enhancing student life, leading a student club, or coaching a team
Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish language/literature or Romance languages; advanced degree preferred.
