Convent of the Sacred Heart seeks an experienced full time Lower School French Teacher for the 2017-2018 academic year.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience teaching French using a full immersion approach (95% target language)
Demonstrate the ability to plan lessons using authentic literature, games, and songs
Engage multiple modalities so that students can retain information
Work collaboratively with colleagues and the curriculum chair to refine the existing modern languages program
Demonstrate a willingness to integrate French language instruction with other disciplines
Successful applicants should possess the following qualifications:
Maturity, collegiality, flexibility, humor
Excellent speaking and writing skills
3-5 years’ teaching experience with K – 4
BA in Elementary education or related field; (MA in French, Foreign Language instruction or a related field not required but preferred)
Native fluency in French language
Demonstrable commitment to professional development
