The Masters School seeks a dynamic full-time Theater Technical Director and Performance Facilities Coordinator. The TD/PFC is responsible for safely and effectively coordinating and implementing all technical elements (scenery, sound and lighting) for Performing Arts productions, as well as backstage and A/V support for other school-wide events in the Claudia Boettcher Theater. The position reports to the Chair of the Performing Arts Department.
Responsible for executing all technical duties in the Claudia Boettcher and Experimental Theaters (CBT and ET); including all but not limited to: set construction, lighting implementation, sound implementation, and properties management for all Performing Arts Department co-curricular productions
Responsible for coordinating and implementing set-ups of all school-wide events/performances in the CBT during the school day. This includes all A/V needs generally run by students
The ideal candidate has teaching experience in their area(s) of expertise and who has worked successfully in independent school settings
Experience in set, lighting and sound design is preferred, as is a deep passion and understanding of the theater and dance worlds
BFA or BA in Technical Theater required and professional experience preferred
1-3 Years' experience in arts education preferred
Ability to perform in an active and dynamic school environment
A positive and outgoing demeanor and an intention to help develop programs in a collaborative learning environment
Candidates must also possess the ability to work patiently with students, to work independently and to engage collaboratively with colleagues
Must have a valid driver’s license, and be willing and able to drive the schools work van as a mode of transporting technical elements – scenery, props, lighting and sound equipment, etc…
