Founded by George Washington Copp Noble in 1866, Noble and Greenough School is a rigorous academic community dedicated to motivating and inspiring students to achieve their highest potential and to lead lives characterized by service to others. A co-educational, non-sectarian day and boarding school for students in grades seven (Class VI) through twelve (Class I), Nobles has a current enrollment of just over 600 students–including approximately 50 five-day boarders.
Nobles seeks to hire a Teaching Fellow in the Performing Arts. Each year, we hire three to six Teaching Fellows in various academic disciplines. Fellows work with a mentor teacher, become fully immersed in the academic life of the school and their academic department, as well as teach, direct, and mentor students in our afternoon and residential programs. Housing is sometimes available as part of the compensation package.
Experience working with young people and a BA, BFA, or MFA in theatre is strongly preferred.
Nobles' vibrant theatre group is known as the Nobles Theatre Collective. The NTC seeks a young professional to join the Performing Arts Department, primarily as Resident Costume Designer for four theatre productions and two dance concerts. The right candidate may also assist in other aspects of technical theatre such as props, and/or assist in teaching a theatre course.
We seek candidates who would bring a desire for ongoing professional improvement, a diversity of backgrounds and experiences and a demonstrated commitment to young people. Nobles has a long-standing commitment to diversity and takes pride in ensuring that this is reflected within our faculty.
