Founded in 1893, TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas is the flagship private school of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. Located in San Antonio, TMI educates students in grades 6-12 and is the oldest Episcopal Church-sponsored, college-preparatory school in the Southwest. TMI offers an optional JROTC program, and 5-day or 7-day boarding for students in grades 8-12.

TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas seeks a full-time Upper School Spanish teacher beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. A strong candidate will have 3-5 years of prior teaching experience in independent schools, with the background to teach and contribute to the school community through coaching and/or club sponsorship.
Teaching five sections of Upper School Spanish, Levels 1-4 at the College Prep, Honors, &/or Heritage Speaker levels
Serving as an Advisor to a small group of students
Contributing to the broader TMI community by participating in one or more extracurricular activities, including the athletic program, residential life program, and/or club program
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
Three to five years teaching experience at the high school level
Fluent in Spanish
Knowledge of diverse teaching strategies and a variety of technology tools to differentiate student learning
Excellent communication skills (both writing and speaking in the target language and in English)
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize workload
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments
