Saint David’s School seeks qualified candidates for the position of Lower School Coordinator, effective September, 2017.
Successful candidates will have a Master’s Degree in learning differences, special education or counseling with strong classroom experience working with and supporting elementary students. Candidate will have the ability to work and communicate well with parents and within a team of teachers; a deep understanding of the teaching and learning process; a commitment to character development; good judgment, patience and flexibility; and a commitment to the mission of Saint David’s School.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Head of Lower School to foster a supportive, encouraging, and productive learning environment for students and teachers.
- Coordinating with Head of Lower School, Consulting School Psychologists, Learning Specialist, teachers, and parents to advocate for students with social-emotional and behavioral needs: including providing one-on-one support and guidance to student, working with teachers to provide and implement strategies, and coordinating efforts at supporting students and their outside professionals.
- Collaborate with Dean of Curriculum and Teaching and Head of Lower School to manage trimester report writing and editing for Pre-K through Grade 3, including ongoing revisions of skills continuums and course overviews, and help organize and facilitate various professional development and curriculum initiatives as needed.
