This close-knit, collegial community with its international faculty and a beautiful campus in NW Portland is seeking a Development Director to continue building its culture of philanthropy. The Director of Development (DOD) will be responsible for management of all fundraising activities for the organization. This position acts as a liaison between the School’s administration and its core constituencies and, as such, works closely with members of the Board of Trustees, parent volunteers, donors, alumni, and the greater parent body. The DOD reports to directly to the head of school, is a member of the senior management team, and supervises a parent and alumni manager and advancement services coordinator.
Minimum Requirements: Advanced degree, at least five years’ experience in the field of Development and a proven track record of consistently reaching fund raising goals through a variety of activities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with capital campaigns, marketing experience, events management, familiarity with the nonprofit and/or educational setting, intermediate to advanced knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge, and a broad cultural perspective. The successful candidate will possess a polished, professional demeanor, ability to reach out and marshal the support of stakeholders, superior organizational and time management skills, diplomacy, discretion, and the ability to marshal the support of stakeholders. Ability to communicate in French and knowledge of French culture a plus but not essential. This is a full-time position and comes with a competitive salary and benefits package.
