All Saints Episcopal School seeks an innovative and dynamic band director to strengthen the continuing development of a growing instrumental program. Responsible for preparing the bands for various performances at school concerts, chapels, and athletic events throughout the year, the band director should have an excellent knowledge of a variety of music styles, repertoire and teaching methods. The band program currently includes a 5th grade survey of Instrumental Music, 6th grade band, Middle School band, Upper School band, and Drumline.
The ideal candidate should:
Possess an undergraduate degree in band or a related field of music; a graduate degree is preferred.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to retain and inspire student musicians.
Have the thorough knowledge of the elements of a band program, choosing repertoire appropriate to the ability level of the students.
Possess humor, energy and a desire to grow professionally.
Be willing to collaborate positively with colleagues and contribute to the larger school culture.
Have 1-3 years teaching experience in music education, preferably in an independent school environment.
Compensation and benefits are consistent with other area independent schools and adjusted based on candidate qualifications.
