Teachers are responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with Saint Andrew’s policies.
Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences ensuring continual student growth and achievement.
Prepares course material such as syllabi, homework assignments, laboratories, and assessments ensuring completion of the curriculum including AP and IB if applicable.
Maintains a safe environment.
Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Uses effective class management techniques to insure effective learning.
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating activities and plans.
Maintains expertise in subject matter through professional development.
Stays current with technology advances and incorporates technology in the classroom.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
