Greenwich Academy seeks a talented beginning teacher to serve as teaching fellow in our English Department. The fellowship offers a teacher new to the profession the opportunity to teach motivated, engaged students in a community that prizes learning and professional growth. The fellow will receive extensive mentoring from colleagues in the department and will have the opportunity to observe classes taught by those colleagues as part of his or her regular schedule. The assignment for this fellow will be likely be two sections of tenth or eleventh grade classes, and fellows are asked to participate in other areas of school life as well, including advising, coaching, sponsoring a club or student group, or other endeavors.
Successful candidates will be excited to work in a rigorous academic environment and will be eager to immerse themselves in the school community. A commitment to using a variety of teaching strategies is expected. Candidates should be enthusiastic learners themselves and should be eager to teach and learn in an environment dedicated to thoughtful, ongoing diversity work.
