Ursuline Academy is an independent college preparatory school for girls in grades 7-12, with a Catholic identity. Our mission includes an emphasis on service and service learning along with a rigorous academic program. We are seeking a dedicated and talented Visual Arts teacher who has experience in the middle school grades. A degree in Fine Arts or in Art Education preferred. The ideal candidate will teach in a dynamic and meaningful manner promoting the success and engagement of all students. Candidates should be knowledgeable in a variety of 2D and 3D media. Previous middle school art teaching experience is preferred as well as experience instructing in multiple/mixed media. While this position is for grades 7 and 8, applicants should be willing to sometimes teach one or two high school art and design classes as enrollment allows. High school courses include design instruction using Adobe software. While this isn’t necessary for the middle school courses, a willingness to learn and/or experience with this software is a plus.
The middle school visual art curriculum should provide an artistic foundation in design thinking, while providing instruction in a variety of art techniques, so that students can build upon this foundation in high school.
Interested candidates must submit a letter of interest, resume and the names of three references to Kathy Thorn at email@example.com. Please indicate the position you are applying for in the subject line of the email.
