Position: High School Spanish Teacher
Reports to: Head of School
Position Status: 20-40% of full time, Faculty, Exempt (may be combined with other part-time positions)
The Marin School, an independent college-preparatory high school in San Rafael, California, seeks a part-time Spanish teacher. The Marin School seeks an experienced candidate to work collaboratively with the current Spanish teacher in developing and teaching a Spanish program.
The Marin School currently serves 100 students in grades 9-12. We honor each student's unique learning style and act in accordance with an unshakable belief in the potential of each and every student. Our motto is "Small School. Big Impact." Class size at the school is small by design (7-10 students), to allow teachers to fully understand their students and give teachers the ability to personalize their instruction with experiential learning, innovative lessons and non-traditional, yet effective, learning opportunities.

Teaching 1-2 sections of Spanish.
Working with the current Spanish teacher to define the Spanish curriculum.
Participating in aspects of student life at TMS such as advising clubs, Outside the Walls and student organizations.
The ideal candidate should be committed to issues of diversity, leadership, inclusion, and equity.
When indicated, the teacher will participate in collaborative meetings with parents, teachers, educational resource staff and appropriate administrators to develop social/emotional/educational plans for students.
The position will begin on August 18, 2017
