The Children’s School seeks an experienced Lead Teacher for the 2017-18 school year. Openings are in the 2nd grade and 5th grade classrooms.

The Lead Teacher is responsible for student learning, classroom instruction and curriculum implementation, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the school, in the core subject areas or in a specialty area, depending on the teaching role and grade-level position.
Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. A minimum of three (3) years of experience with children in a classroom setting required, preferably at a similar age level. Proficiency in core subjects required. Demonstrated experience of integrating technology into the classroom.
Must be motivated, nurturing, creative, self-directed and collaborative partner and team member, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for teaching elementary age children. Desire to play a meaningful role in each student’s daily school life. Demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a teaching partnership. Ability to nurture and challenge each student. Models continuous learning and understands academic, social, behavioral, and emotional developmental milestones of children.
