Westtown School is a Quaker, coeducational, college preparatory day and boarding school for students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, located less than one hour west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The campus is located on a 600 acre campus which includes a working farm, large tract of forest, a small lake with a dam. The physical plant includes numerous academic and support buildings, dorms, and faculty/staff housing.
Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for Faculty and Program this twelve month, half-time position provides focused, energetic leadership to advance Westtown School’s Sustainability Mission Statement as a core strategic value and to promote Westtown School in the forefront of sustainability education. The Director will develop strategy to foster sustainable prosperity in all of Westtown’s roles as a place of learning, a business enterprise, and a member of the local community.
This job is accomplished by working as a team member with our administration, faculty, staff, students and community members to provide the knowledge, skills, and motivation that will integrate sustainability values and practices into the school’s strategic planning and student programs, as well as land and physical plant management. The Director ensures that principles of sustainable prosperity are embedded in all of Westtown School’s roles, goals and objectives –as a place of learning, a business enterprise, and a member of the local community.
