Fall 2017 Coaching Opportunity
Football – Defensive Coordinator
Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for a defensive coordinator (also coaching a position on the defense and offense) for the fall 2017 season. The season begins Wednesday, August 16 and concludes in late November. Required preseason coaches meetings will be held Monday, August 14, 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
This football coach, reporting to the head football coach and director of athletics, will join an athletics program that includes 23 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The football program generally includes two teams (varsity and JV) at the Upper School. The coach is directly responsible for the coaching and management of assigned player position groups for both the varsity and JV teams, as well as other duties within the program as assigned by the football program head. Specific responsibilities include:
- Compliance with all Lakeside School and WIAA policies and procedures;
- Supervision and instruction of football student-athletes during all team activities;
- Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel;
- Attendance at required football program and interscholastic athletics program meetings;
- Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes; and
- Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Successful candidates must be 19 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, and be available for all practices and competitions from 3:00 p.m. daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required. Experience coaching football at the high school or college level is strongly preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a nationwide criminal background check, a Washington State Patrol background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification.
