Stone Ridge is seeking a Lower School French Teacher for PK-Grade 4 to begin August 16, 2017.
Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. The Lower French School Teacher is responsible for teaching elementary French across Pre-Kindergarten Kindergarten, and Grades 1-4, in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education. S/he creates and updates plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum and actively collaborates with Learning Strategists and Educational Technologists to develop strategies to support all students. S/he works with the Counseling staff in developing social-emotional programming as well. S/he is well versed in the philosophy and execution of inquiry-based instruction, within ACTFL standards, in an elementary classroom. Familiar with cognitively-guided instruction, s/he demonstrates experience with both a progressive and didactic approach to teaching French. S/he attends all faculty and employee meetings and participates in Professional Learning Communities within the Stone Ridge community. S/he maintains good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents’ inquiries.
