The Agnes Irwin School's Classics Department is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and innovative Middle & Upper School Classics Teacher (part-time 75%) for the 2017-2018 academic year. This is a one-year appointment, beginning on August 23, 2017, and is a part-time (75%) position, with the possibility of full-time. Candidates should be excited to work in a rigorous academic environment with colleagues who value collaboration as well as independence. Successful candidates will have experience teaching both Middle and Upper School classes and have an understanding of the value of single sex education.
The strongest applicants will have the following qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred • Two years prior experience teaching Latin required, teaching at the Middle and Upper School level preferred • Demonstrated ability to teach Latin at introductory to advanced levels required, ability to teach Greek a plus • Demonstrated ability to incorporate relevant technology in daily lesson plans • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
