St. John’s Prep is an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for young men in grades 6 through 12. Founded on the Xaverian values of compassion, humility, simplicity, trust and zeal, we educate students to be, do and stand for good in the world. We enroll 1,500 students from more than 60 communities.
St. John’s is seeking a long-term substitute biology/neuroscience teacher to cover a family leave from November 6, 2017 – February 11, 2018. We seek a teacher who promotes curiosity and inquiry among students, engages all learners, uses technology as a vehicle for learning gains, and works with students to connect content to the real world in the classroom and laboratory setting.
The Science Department at St. John’s provides students with a rich, challenging and diverse understanding of science and its functional role in contemporary issues. The study of science allows individuals to understand the natural world and acquire important inquiry and analysis skills. The High School program of study can be found here on our website.
All members of the faculty are expected to give witness to our mission at St. John’s. In addition to classroom teaching responsibilities, we encourage all members of the faculty to be involved in the life of the school beyond the classroom through a wide range of co-curricular, intramural and interscholastic programs.
