To develop basic through advanced levels of Dance curriculum, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Dance techniques. To provide private instruction as needed, and teach courses in Dance throughout the school day. Additional responsibilities will be to assist the Director in areas of program development, communication and general administration of a K-12 Dance Program.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist the Director with activities including, but not limited to: administer and supervise Dance activities which relates to public relations, communication, community outreach, fundraising and prepare promotional materials.
Manage the planning process and development of the Dance program, including, but not limited to, choreography for the Upper and Middle School Musicals, after-school auditioned Upper and Middle School Dance Troupes, and at least two Dance Concerts each year.
Supervise students at local and regional dance assessments, as needed.
Provide extra help sessions and private lessons in Dance, as needed.
Choreograph and work with the Performing Arts Department to, as needed.
Attend all Arts Department Meetings and Divisional Faculty meetings.
Attend all Conferences, Professional Development Days and school wide meetings.
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in field or 12 credits in field
Required Experience: One (1) year teaching experience.
Valid State of Florida Certification Certificate.
Three (3) years of successful experience in teaching
