The Alumni Engagement Coordinator’s duties focus primarily on developing and implementing the Academy’s alumni advancement priorities. A primary responsibility is the coordination of the Academy’s ongoing electronic communication with the school’s alumni. The position reports to the Director of Advancement and in coordination with the Director of Annual Fund, oversees Alumni Giving and Reunion Giving.
This position requires a creative and detailed-oriented person with proven writing skills.
Coordinates alumni communications, including writing/editing the monthly Dome Dispatch e-newsletter.
Works collaboratively with the Office of Public Relations to arrange and conduct interviews; write and edit articles for alumni publications.
Oversees the marketing and sale of alumni bricks to parents and alumni.
Works with the Office of Public Relations to ensure the content and maintenance of the Alumni portion of the R-MA Website is up-to-date.
Assists with the planning and coordination of special events for alumni and serves as liaison to the R-MA Alumni Association.
Supports the class ambassador structure.
Works closely with the Advancement Team on special events such as Homecoming, Parents’ Weekends and Award/Special Recognition events.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Development/fundraising experience in educational and/or non-profit organizations.
Strong facility and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
Strong written communications skills, with particular emphasis and experience in news writing and persuasive writing.
Familiarity with Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge database platform.
Ability to work with diverse groups and engage in interpersonal contact with a wide variety of constituencies.
Founded in 1892, Randolph-Macon Academy is a co-ed boarding and day school for approximately 400 students in grades 6-12. The foundational principles of the Academy are: Knowledge, Leadership, and Character. The Upper School is built on a military (AFJROTC) format; the Middle School is civilian. R-MA is focused on providing strenuous college-prep academics, a structured environment, strong athlet...ics, and a full range of extracurricular activities. The Academy operates the Nation’s only full time high-school flight program.
