Léman Manhattan Preparatory School is seeking an Aquatics Director for the 2017-2018 School Year!
The Aquatic Director is appointed by the Athletic Director to exercise direct responsibility for the operation and management of two pools in the Morris and Broad Street locations. This position serves on the Curriculum council, and is responsible for implementing the school’s vision for cutting-edge aquatic programs PreK-12th grade and will further the school’s mission.
Part time instructor of Upper School aquatic classes.
Maintain a safe environment for all participants in both pools using the Department of Health regulations.
Supervise and evaluate all swim instructors and coaches in the Lower School and Upper school, including summer programs.
Oversee operation and management of both the Lower and Upper school pools. This includes communication with the Director of Facilities in regards to Chlorine, pH, emergency procedures and security.
Create revenue-producing programs for students and community, including pool rentals and summer programs.
Responsible for budgeting and allocating funds appropriately.
Head instructor of summer program and to collaborate with Summer Camp Director to create a competitive and successful program.
Supervise, hire and schedule lifeguarding staff. Includes in service training program, holding recertification courses for all lifeguards.
Works in conjunction with the Broad Street Ballroom school events manager for rental agreements.
Communicate effectively with parents, students, school administrators and community partners in regards to the aquatics program.
Serve as a role model to students, be a visible presence in all areas of the school, and promote cooperation and cohesion among all divisions.
Responsible for reviewing and approving time sheets for all non salary staff.
Work with marketing and communications to promote the Léman Manhattan aquatics program locally, nationally, and internationally.
Help drive admissions and recruitment of exceptional student athletes.
Build and develop strong relationships with local college and universities aquatic programs.
Maintain our third provider-ship with American Red Cross to maintain certification requirements.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Proven program builder with ability to drive revenue while balancing changing priorities.
High level vision with practical implementation ability.
Minimum of 5+ years administrative experience, preferably in an independent school or college aquatics environment.
BS required and MA preferred, preferably in the areas of Physical Education and Leadership.
Experience managing daily operations of multiple pool facilities.
Experience teaching and coaching swimming.
American Red Cross WSI, Lifeguard instructor, CPO, AED certified
Demonstrated experience with MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint, Google Drive, Meet Manager and or scheduling software.
