Title: Spanish Teacher; Grades K-6; Part-Time
School Year: 2017-2018
In cooperation with the Administrative Team, the Spanish Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing the instructional program in accordance with the School’s mission, goals, objectives, and philosophy of learning.
Teaches knowledge and skills in the Spanish language to students in Kindergarten through Grade 6.
Develops student understanding and appreciation of culture of countries where the Spanish language is spoken.
Creates developmentally appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials.
Works collaboratively with colleagues in the development of curriculum, teaching methods and instructional strategies.
Monitors student performance and behavior and will keep consistent, reliable records, including, but not limited to, daily attendance, individual student records, report cards and permanent records.
Is responsible for the care and maintenance of the classroom and will maintain an inventory of classroom textbooks, teaching materials, equipment and furniture.
Attends community meetings, faculty meetings, professional development opportunities and in-service days
Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish or a related field
Fluency in both written and oral Spanish
Experience working with students ages 5 through 13
Strong personal and interpersonal skills
