The Kew-Forest School seeks an enthusiastic and innovative Lower School Librarian (part time) for the 2017-2018 school year. The role involves three days on campus (per six day teaching cycle) developing library programming for students from early childhood through fifth grade, overseeing the Lower School collection, and working as an instructional partner. We are looking for an educator who will inspire students to be enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, responsible users of information, and creative and critical thinkers. The Librarian will also provide leadership and expertise in developing and maintaining a rich collection of resources and selecting materials that represent diverse perspectives and needs. She/he will work closely faculty from all disciplines - particularly our Technology Specialist, who also offers library support - to integrate library resources into curricular areas. Successful candidates must be passionate about children’s literature and well-versed in library technology. A Master’s degree or current enrollment in a Library Sciences program is preferred.
