The Ethel Walker School is a vibrant, academically-focussed all-girls college-preparatory secondary school of 250 students (6-8 day, 9-12 boarding and day) in Simsbury, CT that seeks an experienced, highly motivated individual to serve as the Director of Enrollment Management beginning July 1, 2017. The Director will lead all aspects of admissions management including financial aid, reenrollment and retention, research and information management, and admissions marketing for the School, both middle and upper.
The Director will report directly to the Head of School and will be an integral member of the administrative team that sets and pursues school-wide strategies. This position will be the principal point of integration in all strategic areas of enrollment management. This strategic leader will be responsible for long-term admission and enrollment goals developed through data-driven market analysis, targeted communications and the deliberate stewardship of prospective applicants and families through the application/admission process. The Director will be responsible for the thoughtful recruitment and enrollment strategies that will allow the School to continue to thrive and become even more robust with highly qualified, engaged and receptive girls.
The ideal candidate will possess an attested record of success in enrollment and financial aid management at the secondary level, prowess with data analysis and computer database proficiencies and strategic planning, including enrollment management modeling, being able to design and deliver effective school-wide outreach and marketing, a demonstrated ability to grow the size of the school sustainably in terms of setting and achieving enrollment and net tuition goals, as well as oversee a parent ambassador program.
The management and commitment to an active travel and recruitment schedule in key markets is expected, with a desire for this leader to engage in professional activities aligned with meeting enrollment goals. This leader will be an excellent collaborator and communicator with on campus and off campus constituencies – and will be a credible and articulate representative to varied constituencies.
This individual will possess 5-7 years of admissions experience at the secondary level in independent schools; at least a Bachelor’s degree though a Master’s degree or higher is preferred; successful management experience and interpersonal skills; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail; enthusiasm, intelligence, compassion and a highly developed sense of humor and irony; and most tellingly, a commitment to all-girls education at this level.
