POSITION: Director of Extended Day and Summer Programs
REPORTS TO: Head of School
POSITION STATUS: Full Time, salaried exempt employee, yearlong position
SUPERVISES: Extended Day Team – Extended Day and Summer Program Coordinator (1) and Educational Assistants (11)
SUMMARY OF POSTION:
The Director of Extended Day and Summer Programs coordinates, implements, and supervises all Extended Day and Summer Programs. They work in collaboration with the Administration Team, as well as the Extended Team, teachers, and vendors to ensure a quality program which supports the FASPS Mission and Values.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communication with administration, staff, faculty, and parents regarding Extended Day Program
Ensure that school and Washington State Department of Early Learning licensing policies and procedures are followed
Organization and ordering of needed supplies for the Extended Day Program
Creation and implementation of Snack Menu that follows DEL regulations
An active leader in developing positive staff and program participant culture
2/ Supervise Extended Day Staff
Hiring, supervision, and scheduling of Educational Assistants and Extended Day Program Coordinator
Communication with Extended Day Staff on student needs, schedule changes, school news, etc.
Organize and lead weekly staff meetings
Support staff development through coaching, workshops, and one-on-one meetings
Act as a means of communication between teachers and Educational Assistants regarding classroom assistance and general supervision duties.
Implement a yearly evaluation process for staff: goal setting, formal observations, follow up meetings, and final evaluation.
3/ Coordination of Extended Day Program
Development, organization, and scheduling of Extended Day Programs and registration (three times a year) as well as Break Camps (October, February, April) through registration software
Maintain up to date rosters and attendance sheets for all Extended Day Programs
Coordination of all Extended Day students to and from registered programs
Manage and track after school attendance for all programs and oversee daily drop-in billing
Communicate with the Business Office and parents regarding payments for Extended Day Programs
Evaluate and improve the Extended Day Program on a yearly basis using a formal evaluation process
4/ Coordination of Summer Program
Development, organization, and scheduling of Summer Programs: Camp d’été (Lower School), Summer Adventure (Middle School) and Youth Volunteer.
Communication and coordination with the Communication and Marketing Department on marketing plan: advertisements, Camp Fairs, brochures, posters, etc.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION: Salary dependent on experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability, retirement, a generous vacation allowance, as well as sick and personal days.
SCHEDULE: Occasional need to work varied hours including some evenings and weekends as necessary.

Education & Training
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent – a degree or courses in Education or Early Child Education preferred
A professional goal to work in an educational environment or in child/youth development
Experience working with children in a school or child care setting
Experience managing and supervising others
Experience in education or independent schools preferred
Required skills, knowledge, and abilities
Understand and support FASPS’ mission, vision, and core values and promote a positive image of the school
Ability to establish effective, supportive working relationships with staff, administrators, students, parents, and trustees
