Justin-Siena is seeking a full-time upper school Science teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.
The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Teaching five sections of science, most likely physical sciences;
Collaborating within the Science Department to investigate, develop and deliver our curriculum;
Serving on teams to develop whole-school initiatives;
Advising a small group of students;
Engaging meaningfully in student life or athletic programming;
Performing weekend, evening, or overnight duties as assigned.

Candidates must possess demonstrated competence in the content area as well as research-based best pedagogical practices. An advanced degree is preferred. Preference will be given to those with upper division experience in independent schools, particularly those in the Catholic tradition. Preference will also be given to those with the ability to teach all science courses such as Chemistry, Physics, and Geology at the AP, honors, and college prep levels and who have a keen interest in incorporating appropriate innovative technologies. We seek candidates with an active interest in developing courses with substantive interdisciplinary, experiential, and service components. We seek candidates with track records of positive, professional collaboration in team settings. An understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents is necessary; therefore, we seek a healthy combination of positivity, flexibility, energy, creativity, and sense of humor. We seek demonstrated experience working in a diverse, inclusive community and strong cross-cultural competency skills.
