The Brearley School seeks a full-time 12-month Administrative Assistant for the College Advising Office/Coordinator of Testing. The position is responsible for a full array of administrative and professional services in support of the Director and Assistant Director of College Advising and, under the direction of the Head of Upper School Student Life organizes, administers and proctors in-house extra time and make-up testing.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing the calendar, including scheduling of college admission representative meetings, student meeting and family meetings. Greeting students, parents and visitors.
Submitting of documents to colleges, including transcripts and letters of recommendation and management of all aspects of “Naviance” our college admission software system. Prior experience with Naviance is not necessary. Updating of student records in conjunction with the school registrar.
Coordinating special events, including evening programs; preparing presentations. Assisting with Brearley’s Senior Spring program.
Maintaining annual reports used in presentations.?Preparing physical and electronic mailings.
Coordinating the administration of AP exams, the SAT and PSAT.
Overseeing and proctoring make-up and extra time testing in the Upper School.
Effectively communicate protocols to students and faculty.
Safeguard tests, organize and process relevant paperwork and maintain statistics.
We seek someone who is timely and organized and will provide a calm and friendly presence in a fast-paced office environment. Discretion and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality are paramount. Strong communication and technological skills are essential. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Occasional Saturday mornings throughout the year will be required. Applicants should have comfort with Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Anticipated start date: mid-August 2017.
