The Kew-Forest School seeks a dynamic, engaged, hardworking, collaborative, full-time Middle and Upper School History Teacher to begin working at the end of August 2017.
The ideal candidate understands young people (ages 11-18) and encourages them to engage with the content. S/he should have in-depth knowledge of history, social studies, geography, and world cultures.
Other ideal attributes include a sense of humor, great energy, and a desire to inspire students.
Finally, the teacher should model and promote character, respect, and honesty.
The likely courses will be: 6th Grade History, 7th Grade History, and 12th Grade Senior Projects.

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
Teaching experience, preferably in the independent school world
Strong communication skills
Experience working within a diverse learning community
Interest in (and skill working with) adolescents
Supportive, student-centered approach geared toward students with a variety of levels and learning styles
Desire to mentor students in an advisory role outside the classroom
Interest in mentoring seniors in Senior Project program
