Lincoln Academy, an independent school in midcoast Maine, is seeking an academic technology coordinator to support technology use in a variety of academic areas. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic person who has a growth mindset and is willing to lead, teach and learn. An intrinsically motivated candidate will be able to explore their interests in technology with a supportive supervisor, interested and varied students, and a new state of the art facility (Cable-Burns Applied Technology and Engineering Center). This position will report to the Director of Innovation and Technology.
Coach faculty, students and parents to better integrate technology into the learning environment and empower others to develop self-sufficiency in using technology
Design and implement professional development to academic faculty and staff on an ongoing basis and exemplify best practices for teaching and learning.
Assist faculty, parents and students using the enrollment, grading and communications features of the school SIS (PowerSchool)
Manage the school LMS (Canvas) and provide training and support.
Provide on-demand and unplanned assistance that is related to teaching and learning practice
Triage tasks that need to be addressed immediately or jobs that can be completed later.
Direct and manage classroom device programs including device maintenance, inventory, support and training.
Support and expand an interdisciplinary STEM curriculum by teaching in the Department of Design, Engineering and Technology
Maintain equipment and tools in the digital fabrication lab including 3D printers, laser cutter, microelectronics, etc. These skills are not required, but a willingness to learn independently is necessary.
Coordinate and expand our student led technology team and help desk
Supervise summer student workers hired to assist the technology department
Analyze academic technology use at Lincoln Academy in terms of efficiency, user experience, and measurement of successful outcomes.
Be curious about new developments in the field of technology in education and seek professional development on technology trend.
Demonstrate safe and ethical uses of technology
Effective, appropriate and timely communication with direct supervisor.
Effective, appropriate and timely communication with Lincoln Academy faculty, staff, and students
Effective, appropriate and timely communication with members of technology department and the systems administrator
Effective communication with software or hardware vendors.

Education and Experience:
Extensive working knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and related technologies
Strong technology literacy
1+ years teaching experience
Bachelor’s Degree in education or equivalent
Experience with both Mac and Windows environments
Ability to explain technical jargon to general audiences.
Strong understanding of key learning theories and methods of instruction and their relation to technology integration
Familiarity with methods for integrating technology into the curriculum such as online portfolios, web-based research methods, and other forms of assessment.
Experience with effective technology teaching strategies in teaching software and hardware skills.
Technology skills in current computer software, including word processing, web page development and design, presentation, digital video and audio editing, digital photography and design software, and graphics applications.
Must be able to work with multiple distractions and changing priorities
Must be able to set own schedule and be flexible to meet the needs of teachers
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Should be interested in contributing to the life of Lincoln Academy and should enjoy working with adults and students who approach the use of computer and technology from an educational point of view.
