The Calhoun School, a progressive, coeducational day school serving approximately 730 students from early childhood to 12th grade, seeks an Upper School Learning Specialist Maternity Leave Replacement from August to December 2017. This position will report to the Director of Upper School.
Major Job Functions:
Providing guidance and support with the evaluation process for parents and students;
Assisting families in obtaining evaluations and related services through the NYC DOE;
Creating individual accommodation plans for students with learning disabilities;
Acting as an on-site resource about learning disabilities for students, parents and teachers;
Managing the application process regarding special accommodations for College Board and ACT testing;
Coordinating/proctoring nonstandard administration of PSAT, SAT and ACT;
Proctoring assessments for students with in-school accommodation plans.

Bachelor's degree in related field; Master’s Degree preferred;
High school experience; independent school experience preferred.
