Develop and oversee advancement policies, procedures, and programs.
Manage the Institutional Advancement team, including volunteers
Oversee Annual Fund: coordinating communication, recording donations, educating volunteers, managing phonathons, among other related activities.
Ability to operate advancement software, in particular Raiser’s Edge
Coordinate and support activities with Alumnae office.
Coordinate and support activities with the Communications office.
Provide reports to school leadership and the Board of Trustees.
Participate in the development of school strategy, providing recommendations, analysis, projections, and other data to inform the process.
At times the school will engage in Capital Campaigns and Major Gift Campaigns, the Director will coordinate and direct those campaigns.
Understand the culture and climate of the school and the wider educational environment.
Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports, providing constructive and timely feedback.
Coordinate and support a variety of school programs, including but not limited to, the school store, Mothers Association, Fathers Association, the School Christmas card among other programs.
Model and foster high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, alumnae, parents and students in the conduct of the school’s business.
Remain current with advancement trends and cultivate professional standards and development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in local, regional and national professional organizations.
Minimum of a BA required, appropriate advanced degree preferred.
At least seven to 10 years of overall professional experience in managing institutional development programs in an independent school or higher education environment.
The incumbent must have a broad exposure to all facets of institutional advancement including annual fund, major gifts, planned giving, public relations, communications, and database management.
Significant capital campaign experience coupled with the ability to manage a portfolio of major gift prospects is essential.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with trustees, faculty, administration, staff and volunteers.
