TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time ESL Teacher beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. A strong candidate will have prior ESL teaching experience, with the background to teach and contribute to the school community through coaching and/or club sponsorship. The anticipated start date is August 7, 2017.
Founded in 1893, TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas is the flagship private school of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. Located in San Antonio, TMI educates students in grades 6-12 and is the oldest Episcopal Church-sponsored, college-preparatory school in the Southwest. TMI offers an optional JROTC program, and 5-day or 7-day boarding for students in grades 8-12.

Teaches three sections of ESL and proctored study halls.
Serves as an Advisor to a small group of students.
Contributes to the broader TMI community by participating in extracurricular activities, including the athletic program, residential life program, and/or club program.
Bachelor’s Degree in ELA, ESL or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Previous ESL teaching experience; three to five years of experience is preferred.
Thorough content knowledge of ELA and ESL
Knowledge of diverse teaching strategies and a variety of technology tools to differentiate student learning
Excellent communication skills (both writing and speaking)
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize workload
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments
Salary to be determined based on experience and qualifications.
