TRINITY EPISCOPAL SCHOOL Galveston, Texas JOB DESCRIPTION Director of Maintenance
Trinity Episcopal School is a Beginning School through 8th grade independent day school (approximately 275 students, 45 faculty/staff) in Galveston, TX and has an opening for the Director of Maintenance position. The school is spread out over on an entire city block between three separate buildings and the Beginning School resides across the street. The position directs the maintenance, custodial and improvement operations of TES facilities, including preventative maintenance and related projects and budgets.
Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
Prioritizes and concludes repair work and projects in a timely manner.
Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and on the grounds. Request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.
Works with outside agencies such as state licensing, fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
Prepares Reports with the HOS for the Property Committee
Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget; along with all custodial work
Recruits, hires, trains, develop schedules and direct assigned staff and maintenance volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance of custodial team and develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve maintenance goals.
Advises Head of School on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
Ensures that bus is maintained and operated in accordance appropriately.
Updates facility plans periodically. Develop a Tickler list and an annual plan of projects & report progress to HOS.
Performs other duties as assigned
Experience in facility management or a related field or relevant experience.
Three or more years’ experience in facility management or closely related field.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
Knowledge of contractors and the bidding process
Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
