The primary objective of the Graphic Design and Multimedia Manager is to utilize advanced graphic design and digital media skills to conceptualize, produce and promote cross-channel communications. The Manager will provide design, photography, videography and copywriting expertise to take ownership of Brookwood’s brand. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a knack for project management who is willing to be a team player, tackling a wide variety of deadline-driven projects in various roles. The Manager will produce digital and print communications and will play a key role in executing inbound marketing campaigns.
Execute the creative vision for Brookwood’s brand by working closely with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications to bring ideas to life through a wide variety of marketing assets
Design school publications and coordinate final delivery of materials for upload/print
Think creatively to develop new design concepts, graphics, layouts and copy in support of Communications, Advancement and Admissions projects
Elevate the brand experience by managing the creative direction and hands-on production of video and multimedia projects
Provide photography and videography support for school events
Manage extensive library of visual assets including photos, logos, infographics and icons
Assist in the planning, development and promotion of inbound marketing campaigns, and manage the design and execution of Hubspot emails, landing pages and forms
Help with web and digital quality control, such as user experience improvements, imagery and font selection, copy editing, and other projects as assigned by the Director
Provide support for populating content into landing pages, emails and web pages
Assist in the management and updating of social media profiles, including “live” stories
Gain knowledge of independent school marketing and branding trends
Coordinate 3rd party photographers and vendors as needed and provide art direction
Compile and produce photo albums and slideshows for special events and graduation
In addition to the specific duties listed above, the Manager may be asked to provide support and assistance for other projects, and will participate in departmental planning and brainstorming meetings.
BFA or BA in Graphic Design, Communications or Marketing
4+ years of professional work experience
A robust design portfolio
Expert knowledge of Illustrator, PhotoShop, Acrobat, InDesign and video editing
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Drupal or Wordpress, and Hubspot
Demonstrated use of photography, videography and infographics as key elements in marketing campaigns
Passion for clean design, love of typography, knowledge of color theory, desire to solve problems in an innovative manner, and eagerness to continually learn
Ability to manage multiple projects on deadline
Excellent organization, collaboration and communication skills
Comfortable working with new technologies and willing to become the resident “expert” by utilizing self-help resources
Demonstrated high energy level and ability to execute communication activities that range from routine to highly creative
Proven track record of building relationships across an organization
Availability to occasionally work outside of regular work hours
Enthusiasm for an independent school environment
Strong attention to detail while being able to think strategically and understand the broader vision
Willing to contribute to projects in various roles
