Tower School seeks a full-time, enthusiastic, collaborative and experienced Art instructor for grades PK-8 to start in August, 2017.
Tower School values and celebrates the Arts at every turn. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in participating fully in the life and activities of a highly creative and joyful elementary and middle school. Successful candidates will have a great work ethic, a good sense of humor, great skill in drawing, painting and sculpting and be an inspiring teacher of young people.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Art or in education with a strong background in Studio Art, a graduate degree in Art or Art education is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years experience teaching visual art to lower and middle school students and have experience teaching with a variety of drawing, painting, sculpting, textiles and ceramic materials. Candidates will need to work collaboratively with art department colleagues to support a spiraling art curriculum and incorporate a wide range of media, color theory and art history. Experience displaying student artwork within a school community is preferred.
