National Presbyterian School, an independent, co-educational elementary school (Pre-K 3 - 6th Grade) is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The Upper Division Spanish teacher will be responsible for instruction of all students in Grades 3-6.
The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of Spanish instruction for elementary aged children and will have demonstrated success in teaching Spanish to students in grades 3-6. The Upper Division Spanish Teacher is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing a curriculum that is focused on active exploration of the Spanish Language and culture through reading, writing and oral activities. In prospective candidates, NPS is looking for educators who have the skills and passion necessary to inspire learning and enhance the overall educational experience by fostering students’ academic, ethical, social, and emotional development in accordance with the National Presbyterian School mission, philosophy, and Core Values.
The Upper Division Spanish Teacher will participate fully in the life of the school. Duties and responsibilities include preparing written report card comments, facilitating parent-teacher conferences, attending Specialized Teacher and full faculty meetings, serving on content area or school life committees, and duties related to the supervision of arrival, recess, lunch, and dismissal. The Upper Division Spanish Teacher will also collaborate with the Lower Division Spanish Teacher to ensure a smooth transition from Lower Division to Upper Division Spanish curriculum.
