Randolph School is seeking an innovative teacher for a part-time Social Studies teacher within our Middle School Division (grades 5-8). Applicants should have an interest in and awareness of current international affairs, experience with project-based learning, and a commitment to collaborating with a partner teacher when implementing a skills-based and student-focused curriculum.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and respond to each individual students’ learning needs and create enrichment opportunities; implement instructional strategies that contribute to meaningful learning experiences for all learners
- Work with grade level teams to address the needs of the whole child
- Integrate the teaching of effective organization and study skills
- Use our Learning Management System to communicate and organize assignments
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports)
- Effectively monitor and manage student learning using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment and develop respectful relationships with students by using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques within the classroom
- Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional growth activities
- Maintain an effective, safe, and well-organized classroom
- Integrate technology appropriately in the classroom

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in teaching middle school Social Studies preferred
- B.S. in History or Education required, master’s degree preferred
- Independent college preparatory school experience preferred
- Student-centered, collaborative, approachable, passionate about history and current events
Interest and ability to contribute to our athletics and extracurricular programs is an additional consideration.
