Job Title: Director of the Glenn Institute
The Director of Westminster’s Glenn Institute will join a growth-oriented, collaborative learning community committed to the School’s mission and vision, including core values of inclusivity and service. Westminster excels regionally and nationally in every area of school life, from academics to the arts to athletics, achieving excellence through a wide range of programming supported by a wealth of resources.
Guided by the Glenn Institute’s rich history of service learning, philanthropy, and community engagement, the Director will develop the Glenn Institute into a platform to engage Atlanta by:
Integrating existing programs and initiatives
Incubating new curriculum and program
Communicating the full story of how Westminster engages Atlanta
The Director of the Glenn Institute:
Reports to Dean of Academics & Curriculum (pre-1st-12th)
Sits on the senior Academic Leadership Team
Leads a team of six, including a program assistant
ABILITIES and ATTRIBUTES
Success in developing and facilitating programs and curriculum that engage others
Demonstrated work with communities to serve and lead
Ability to draw on existing partnerships and develop new ones
Strong communication skills to tell the story of Glenn and Westminster
Infectious enthusiasm for diverse racial, ethnic, religious, political, and family backgrounds
Leadership experience that balances collaboration and efficiency
Visionary perspective that can imagine into the future and build for it
Experience managing budgets and strategically deploying resources
Familiarity with independent school culture
Strong organizational skills
Warmth, tact, and sense of humor
Persistence and commitment
Relevant academic credentials, with an advanced degree preferred
Ability to engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out; sitting and standing for long periods of time; ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified. This position will involve some travel, both in Atlanta and beyond.
