Upper School History Department has an opening for a full-time teacher. The successful candidate will teach four sections of history, including 9th- and/or 10th-grade World History and semester-long electives on specific topics in World History or Global Studies. A full-time faculty member also serves as an advisor for 8-10 students and supports a co-curricular activity by coaching a sport or advising a major school activity. All faculty members are expected to support activities and events that contribute to the life of the school and to attend departmental, divisional and all-school staff meetings.
An undergraduate degree in history is required, and a graduate degree in history is preferred. A focus on world regions other than Europe or the U.S. is also preferred. Successful independent high school teaching experience of at least three to five years is desired.
