The World Languages Department at Darlington School seeks an experienced middle school (grades 6-8) Spanish teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. This educator would join a dynamic environment of teaching professionals who are continuously growing and collaborating.The candidate must be open to learning from his/her colleagues and comfortable sharing ideas and collaborating with their colleagues. The candidate must also demonstrate fluency and extensive knowledge of important concepts in the discipline and how they relate to other disciplines.
Middle School core subject teachers have responsibility for teaching five class sections with two class periods for preparation. All Middle School teachers participate in an extracurricular activity and also serve as advisors for groups of 10-12 students. Teachers work closely with the Pre-K to 8 Director and Assistant Director for guidance, curriculum assessment, and evaluation. Teachers meet regularly with both grade level and department teams to discuss curriculum, pedagogy, student progress and special initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have classroom teaching experience in the middle grades and hold a bachelor’s degree in the content area, though a master’s degree is preferred.
