Sayre School, an independent, co-educational Pre-K-12 school in Lexington, KY, is seeking a full-time Math teacher for its Upper School program. Our US Math department is a four-member, collegial group of dedicated teachers, who want to build the foundation for success in math and inspire students to pursue upper level math work at Sayre and collegiately using a variety of teaching and assessment methods. We encourage innovative teaching and collaboration.
Our math faculty typically teach different subjects on different grade levels, with the average workload being five classes of fifteen students and two or three preps. Candidates should have a Masters degree in Math, and several years of teaching experience on a variety of levels is preferable. Applicants should be able to both contribute meaningfully to the development of overall department goals and work independently. All students have laptops, so candidates should be adept at incorporating technology into the math classroom. Most importantly, teachers must love working with teenagers as much as they love their subject.
Please email a resume, statement of teaching philosophy and references to Tim O’Rourke, Head of Upper School at firstname.lastname@example.org.
