Status: Full time,Non-exempt. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:50 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. with ½ hour for lunch.
Reports to: Director of Finance
Position Description: Cape Henry Collegiate seeks a full-time Business Office Assistant (BOA). This integral role focuses on customer service, answers and directs inquiries, provides administrative support to the Director of Finance, assists with Student Accounts and the Bookstore, and supports other Business Office functions.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, detail oriented, organized, and proficient with financial data entry and professional written communication. The candidate will demonstrate the capacity to contribute in a positive manner to a team environment. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize the diversified workload.
The BOA represents the School at all times and must honor the confidential and sensitive nature of the responsibilities of all of the Business Office functions. Applicants for this full-time position should have 2+ years of experience in a clerical or administrative support position, preferably with some accounting knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Record and deposit incoming payments for student billing, after-school camps, miscellaneous cash receipts and development.
Operate the Brooks Family Spirit Store on a part-time basis by assisting customers with purchases and stocking shelves with merchandise.
Maintain and distribute office supplies, stationery and other materials and keep supplies fully stocked at all times.
General administrative duties as assigned.
Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone and internet communications and record keeping.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the Google platform (Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets).
Ability to establish priorities and maintain organization.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects.
High school diploma, Advanced degree (preferred)
2+ years of administrative experience or equivalent. Accounting experience preferred.
