Norfolk Collegiate School is seeking a dynamic educational leader to head its middle school beginning in 2018-2019. A co-educational, K-12 independent school enrolling over 625 students, Norfolk Collegiate is committed to a progressive program of instruction including a 1:1 i-Pad initiative, maker space integration, and inquiry-based, project-based learning. The middle school head is responsible for the curricular and co-curricular program in the middle school division, which has 168 students in grades 6-8. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the day-to-day operation of the division, creation and maintenance of the master schedule, supervision and evaluation of faculty, coordination of the student conduct and honor system, and communication among parents, faculty and the school, including conferences and special programming. The Head of Middle School reports to the Headmaster and serves as a member of the Senior Administrative Team.
The successful candidate should have an advanced degree, excellent organizational and communication skills, a keen interest in middle school students, a willingness to work with all members of the school community, and the ability to lead an excellent faculty and talented student body. Middle school teaching and/or administrative experience is preferred. Compensation for this twelve-month position is commensurate with experience.
