The successful candidate will be a master educator who displays passion for teaching math; other responsibilities and competencies include:
Teaching 5 sections of mathematics, likely to include Algebra 1 and/or (Honors) Geometry and other courses across the curriculum based on interest and ability (including higher level content such as AP Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus and elective offerings partnering with other STEM related departments)
Connecting with students, challenging them, and working with students with diverse backgrounds and perspectives
Coaching a sport is highly desirable
Advising 10-12 students and facilitating the integration of our “Lead from Here” curriculum
Demonstrating effective technology skills, including the ability to use our learning management system (Veracross)
Serving on committees and/or leading an active student club
Demonstrating a growth mindset and the ability to receive feedback, adapt to different learners’ needs, and become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive department
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field; Master’s degree highly desirable; experience teaching Mathematics required.
