The Director of Admissions and Enrollment will develop and oversee innovative recruitment, and enrollment strategies. A proactive and driven leader, the Director will promote The Winchendon School and further strengthen its reputation in existing markets as well as establish a presence in new ones in order to attract and enroll mission-appropriate students. The Director will also be responsible for implementing new and data-driven enrollment strategies throughout the admissions office. The successful candidate will enthusiastically embrace Winchendon’s mission, culture, and community in order to serve as an effective ambassador. The Director will report to the Chief Operating Office, and manage an admissions team of four.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Working with the COO, developing and directing the vision and metrics for enrollment management, ensuring they align with the strategic plan of the school
Develop a culture of cultivation and stewardship - Advising and guiding prospective students and families throughout all stages of the admissions process, showing initiative and follow through
Maintaining and establishing relationships with area feeder schools and educational consultants
Collaborating within the admissions office and greater school community to ensure enrollment goals are met and to plan for future enrollment goals
Overseeing all admissions practices, events, and tactics, always updating them to respond to needs of the School and the marketplace, and leading and overseeing admissions team
Working with others in school leadership to develop and advance intentional and comprehensive marketing and brand strategy

At least a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline with masters preferred.
Candidates will have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Prior experience in leading an independent school admissions office or in high-level sales work with some experience in independent school admissions
Extensive knowledge of financial aid process and best practices
Facility with data and use of current technologies
Strategic thinking and the ability to implement new initiatives
Knowledge of effective communications and marketing strategies
Willingness and desire to be visible on campus; to connect with teachers, students, and staff; and to work a demanding and flexible full-time, boarding school schedule, including evenings and weekends
Ability to articulate the value of a Winchendon education
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to work with others, including students and families from a variety of backgrounds
