Newark Academy seeks a dynamic educator who will assume the position of Head Football Coach and other staff or faculty responsibilities in preparation for and commencing with the 2018-2019 school year. Newark Academy’s faculty openings for next year have been posted. The ideal candidate would be a match for a teaching position as well.
The successful applicant for this position will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and a minimum of three years coaching experience. Experience teaching or working in an educational setting is preferred but not required. This candidate should be an excellent communicator, energetic, with proven people and managerial skills who relishes the opportunity to work with a diverse group of young men in a situation where academics are priority one. Experience in independent schools, or higher education will be looked upon favorably.
The successful candidate will report to the Athletic Director in managing the entire football program, which currently includes upper and middle school teams. The head coach will assist the Athletic Director with scheduling, hiring and evaluating coaches, duty assignments, and other responsibilities related to program supervision. Academic responsibilities will be under the supervision of the dean of Faculty and Principals of Upper and Middle School.
Newark Academy is an independent day school located in Livingston, New Jersey, a 40 minute drive to mid-town Manhattan. Newark Academy is non-sectarian and coeducational.
