The Field School is seeking a 6th Grade Head for the 2018-19 school year. Grade Heads play a critical role in creating Field’s culture at their respective grade levels. They set expectations for student academic and behavioral growth and they work with teachers to create a positive and welcoming environment in the grade and to develop strategies for individual student success.
The sixth grade is the youngest grade level at Field, so it is important that the Grade Head be able to successfully onboard students and families into the school and provide a foundational understanding of Field’s mission, values, and educational approach.
The 6th Grade Head will teach two sections (at least one in the sixth grade), coach one season (or equivalent), and participate as a member of Field’s Student Guidance Team. They will report to the Interim Middle School Head and meet regularly with the Director of Student Guidance & Growth. The successful candidate will bring excellent leadership and communication skills to the role along with a strong understanding of middle school students.
To apply, please fill out our online teaching application and select "6th Grade Head" in the "Administrative Interest" section. If you have any questions about the position or the application process, please contact Megan Nuxoll, Director of Recruitment at firstname.lastname@example.org
