Job Title: UPPER SCHOOL CHEMISTRY

Reports to: Head of Upper School
Two years of Upper School teaching experience and a background in integrated studies preferred but not required
Ability to teach or willingness to be trained in AP curriculum
Proficiency with instructional technology
A. in Chemistry and/or professional or practical experience in a scientific field preferred
Ability to teach other scientific subjects (Biology, etc) preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach sections of Chemistry and possibly other sciences depending on the expertise
Co-teach a 3-week immersive, interdisciplinary class during Jan Term
Work directly with nearly 20 other Upper School Science teachers as part of a Science PLC
Advise students as part of the Upper School Advisory Program
Contribute to the larger school community through coaching or sponsoring other extracurricular programs. Depending on expertise, responsibilities may include robotics, Science Olympiad, or developing curriculum for an existing greenhouse and organic garden.
In addition to experience and a strong educational background, successful candidates demonstrate a love of working with children, an engaging teaching style, the ability to interact well with parents and colleagues, and a willingness to create and promote an inclusive learning environment.
Ability to engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out; sitting and standing for long periods of time; ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified.
