Middlesex School seeks a permanent full-time French teacher beginning in the 2018-19 academic year. Middlesex is a coeducational, college-preparatory, boarding secondary school of 400 students located in Concord, Massachusetts. We seek strong candidates with significant teaching experience and, preferably, an advanced degree, to teach a range of courses from the French Department’s core series and to contribute to its upper-level elective offerings. Native speaking ability is preferred. Candidates must be familiar with the uses of technology in the teaching of French. While seasoned candidates with advanced degrees are desired, promising teachers with less experience will also be considered.
Passion for the subject and eagerness to engage with colleagues over pedagogical and curricular matters are crucial qualities that the School seeks in candidates. In addition to classroom teaching, the position includes coaching, advising, and evening/weekend supervisory duties. A willingness to participate with enthusiasm in all aspects of a residential school community is essential.
